I have seen Trojan’s commercial about 100 times and I wanted to see if my hair would be blown back like the people on TV. Well, my hair didn’t quite get blown back, but the vibe was pretty strong. I absolutely love the color and the packaging. I feel it would be a great item for a retail store. I enjoyed the five functions and three patterns, however, it was hard to change the settings. I had to go and pump some iron to get through all of the settings, but the instructions are great on the package.

Genderqueer Sci-fi Novel ‘Beyond Binary’ Out

Lethe Press has set a May 5 release date for editor Brit Mandelo’s debut anthology “Beyond Binary: Genderqueer and Sexually Fluid Speculative Fiction.”

A collection of 17 sexually themed sci-fi stories, “Beyond Binary” explores how “identity can go beyond binary from space colonies to small college towns, from angels to androids and from a magical past to other worlds entirely.”

The book is drawing favorable comparisons to the award-winning, LGBT sci-fi anthology series “Bending the Landscape,” published in the late ’90s by Meisha Merlin Publishing.

“Beyond Binary” includes works from Keffy R.M. Kehrli (“Bonehouse”) Ellen Kushner (“A Wild and Wicked Youth”), Catherynne Valente (“Palimpsest”), Sarah Kanning (“Sex with Ghosts) and Liu Wen Zhuang (”The Metamorphosis Bud”).

“‘Genderqueer’ can be a label, but it’s also an umbrella term that contains a multiplicity of other identities which slip, subvert, or explode restrictive, binary ideas about selves and bodies,” Mandelo wrote on her Tor.com blog Queering SFF. “The potential for experimentation, change, fluidity and non-normative construction of self is huge — whether it’s today, or in the Renaissance, or in the future, or on a whole other world.”

Screaming O RingO Appears on U.K. TV Show

The Screaming O made a surprise guest appearance on the telly with U.K. comedy talk show “Celebrity Juice,” when host Keith Lemon handed his puzzled co-host Holly Willoughby a few RingOs without telling her what exactly she was holding.

Universal Pictures Scores Movie Rights to BDSM Novel ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’

Universal Pictures and Focus Features have emerged from a frenzied Hollywood studio bidding war with the movie rights to “Fifty Shades of Grey,”a sexually-explicit, BDSM romance novel from British newcomer E.L. James.

While it’s unknown what the rights sold for, Deadline.com is predicting a figure just north of $3 million, but notes that other studios put the sale at about $4 million against a 5% gross.

Regardless of what Universal paid, however, what James and her agent Valerie Hoskins sought and found was a collaborative environment in which maintaining the integrity of the book would be of utmost importance.

“The goal was to protect the material and its manifestations into movies,” Hoskins told Deadline. “It is very sensitive material. It could become sleazy, it could become cheesy, it could end up looking like porn. It needs to be classy, sexy rather than full of sex.”

“Fifty Shades of Grey” follows the bondage-happy, kink-fueled love affair between 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey and 22-year-old college virgin Anastasia Steele. The relationship is deconstructed further in the sequels “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.”

Dubbed “Mommy Porn” by the NY Times for its appeal to women over 30, the Random House/Vintage book has become a runaway success much in the vein of Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code.”

Crystal Delights Reports Traffic Spike After ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Gaffe

Adult toy company CrystalDelights.com reported a spike in traffic following an inadvertent misstep in promoting a diet drink on Sunday’s show of “Celebrity Apprentice.”

For this week’s challenge, the “Celebrity Apprentice” teams were given the task to promote a new Crystal Light diet beverage product. While the men’s team opted to promote the company’s new Mocktails virgin drink mixes with a beach theme, the ladies’ team, Team Forte, chose to promote the entire company with the tagline, “Garden of Crystal Delight,” not realizing that a luxury adult toy company had the same name.

During the broadcast, Crystal Delights was mentioned repeatedly both verbally as well as with a large sign on the show, resulting in an impromptu national ad campaign for the small New Hampshire luxury adult toy company. Fans of both the television show and the toy company alike can see a clip from the broadcast here.

The television show is about mogul Donald Trump pitting celebrities against each other in an attempt to win money for different charities.

“We were thrilled to have so many mentions on Sunday’s program,” said Shellie Yarnell, Crystal Delight’s creative director. ”We were even more surprised to see our website traffic spike due to the repeated mentions.”

Yarnell has offered each member of Team Forte a free luxury toy as a way of thanking them for the national advertising of Crystal Delights.

“Crystal Light is classy, sassy and cutting edge, just like us,” Yarnell said. “Thanks, Team Forte and Crystal Light.”
