Bedroom Kandi

OhMiBod has partnered with Kandi Burruss, a Grammy award-winning artist and star of cable network Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Atlanta” for Bedroom Kandi, a line of luxury personal pleasure products.

“Our lives are so hectic that we forget to take time to pamper ourselves,” Burruss said. “The Bedroom Kandi line is designed to fix that. Whether you’re alone or with a partner, our products will bring spice, intimacy and fun back into the bedroom.”

OhMiBod founder Suki Dunham said that the six-piece collection includes a dual stim contemporary splash-proof “rabbit” style massager that works with or without music called Happiness & Joy; a splash-proof external massager designed to resemble a powder puff and compact case called Make Me Over; an external waterproof bullet massager called Kandi Kisses; a waterproof couple’s ring called Rise and Shine; a set of four Kegel spheres -called Hold On To Me, and a botanically infused water-based lubricant courtesy of Sliquid.

All of the products are rechargeable, with three of them rechargeable via USB, made of body-safe silicone and come with a standard one-year warranty.

Dunham said that the collection is a true collaboration in which both entities’ brands remain visible.

“Kandi and I met a couple of times to discuss general features, materials and design ideas,” Dunham said. “We then took that to our designer and put together a design review proposal. From there, we iterated a couple of times and then finalized on the products to include in the initial launch.”

According to Dunham, the new line furthers OhMiBod’s mission to increase acceptance of personal pleasure and intimate toys.

“Bedroom Kandi strives to be the catalyst for shifting cultural attitudes toward self pleasure and the vital role it plays in one’s sexual health and well being,” she said. “Kandi shares our goal in bringing woman-friendly, body-safe, sex-positive products to the market, and we are proud to partner with her on a fun and playful yet sophisticated line that appeals to such a wide audience.”

The new line will be available in mid-October at MyBedroomKandi.com.

Body Heat rises

OhMiBod, creator of the original music-driven vibrator, introduced its latest innovation during CES — Body Heat, a personal massager interface that allows users to create their own pleasure with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Compatible with the entire range of OhMiBod products, Body Heat is the first app designed to remotely control vibrators and is available for $3.99 on the iTunes App Store.

“Body Heat is responsive to touch and movement, leaving control quite literally at the customer’s fingertips,” said Suki Dunham, founder of OhMiBod. “Gone are the days of cycling through speed, intensity and pattern variations. With Body Heat, users can change their experiences on the fly and in real time.”

Designed by a woman, Body Heat is ideal for use both alone and with a partner, the company said. Since vibrators are controlled remotely, couples can add a new element to sex play with an infinite range of vibrations and patterns.

Dunham notes that this exclusive brand of creative freedom is a revolutionary step toward turning OhMiBod’s line of personal massagers into fully customizable self-pleasure devices.

“One of OhMiBod’s key missions is ensuring that customers enjoy new experiences each time they use one of our products,” Dunham said. “Body Heat is a game changer in this regard. It opens the doors to an entirely unique and interactive way of controlling OhMiBod pleasure products.”

EdenFantasys.com Community Interviews OhMiBod Founder

Suki, the founder of OhMiBod, which pioneered the design and manufacture of technology-enabled pleasure products, is the current interview subject for the EdenFantasys.com community.

The interview can be seen here.

Suki and her husband Brian have been married for 22 years and have two children. While juggling family life, their mission is to bring their tech-driven vibrators to the mainstream consumer market.

With their recent inclusion in Grammy Awards swag bags, they appear to be on their way.

In her interview, Suki reveals that the inspiration for OhMiBod came from Brian traveling often. One Christmas, her stocking was stuffed with a vibrator and an iPod and soon found herself using the two together.

What was the road to the first product like? Is it hard to balance everything? Did Steve Jobs wish Suki well with embarking on this venture? What’s Suki’s favorite song to “test” products to? The questions are endless!

Suki will be giving away prizes for her favorite three questions. Prizes include OhMiBod’s latest release — the Freestyle vibe for first place, OhMiBod’s Club Vibe or the OhMiBod signature vibe for second place, and third place wins a $25 Eden Fantasys gift card.

The interview is open for questions until Tuesday, March 9.

Freestyle by OhMiBod

Every element of the OhMiBod from concept to design perfectly targets today’s generation of women that are on the go. Inside the clean white box it is packaged in, the OhMiBod comes encased in a hard plastic box with padding inside to snugly hold the OhMiBod and its wireless transmitter; because most importantly this vibe easily connects to an iPhone, iPod (any model), any mp3 player or home speaker system. The case is extremely travel-friendly, plus you’re provided with a universal charger with adapters for the U.S., Europe, Australia, New Zealand or the U.K., making the OhMiBod ready to go anywhere!

After weeks of use, my OhMiBod is still running on its initial charging — because it offers up to five hours of fun. Its manual setting features seven vibrating functions ranging from constant speeds to pulsation patterns. They’re powerful and the velvety coating offers a smooth touch. Since the OhMiBod is of a hard material, it doesn’t look or feel human-like, but I do love the pressure its stiffness offers.

When the wireless transmitter is connected to a music device, the OhMiBod’s intensity depends on the tunes. I recommend the pulsation of the fast steady beats of punk, upbeat Latin music and sensual reggae rhythms. Also, if the music doesn’t do it for me, it’s easy to switch from music to manual mode.

OhMiBod Goes to the Grammys

A gift certificate to the OhMiBod online store was included in the Official 52nd Annual Grammy Awards Gift Bag.

World renowned as “Music’s Biggest Night,” the Grammys are the preeminent peer-recognized award for musical excellence and the most credible brand in music. The event aired live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS network TV on Jan. 31.

I wonder what Beyoncé will choose? Perhaps the Freestyle? It is the world’s first wireless music massager – totally fit for her awesomeness.

It’s rechargeable and made from body-safe material. The Freestyle operates with and without music and comes in a custom travel case with international plug adapters — it’d come in handy when you’re on tour, B… or when the Jigga, aka hubby Jay-Z, is on tour. Just sayin.

“Music’s power to heal, transform and reinforce relationships is what inspired OhMiBod to create the Freestyle,” said Suki Dunham, co-founder of OhMiBod. “Having the opportunity to share our vision with the industry’s best and most influential performers is an honor.”

The coveted Grammy Gift Bag is produced by Distinctive Assets, and included the most sought after gadgets and luxury items on the market. The gifting was provided to all performers and presenters at this year’s show, which included Album of the Year nominees Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas, Dave Matthews Band, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, as well as artists such as Maxwell, the Lady Antebellum and Green Day.

The Decade’s Greatest Innovations in Self-Pleasure

Talk about a toughie! Sooo many great innovations in sex toys – it would take another decade to list them all. My top pick(s) —one targeting women, the other is for men — were chosen based on their awesome use of technology… Even though, of course, we all know you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to get off but it is almost 2010 — get with the times! Sheesh.

The OhMiBod Collection

I am a huge music fan — I am almost as passionate about my tunes as I am about boning. Since 2006, OhMiBod has found exciting new ways to combine the two. Their collection of music-powered massagers come in all shapes, colors and sizes. This year the company partnered with DJs and a rock band for specially designed product releases and corresponding music playlists. OhMiBod’s Boditalk and Boditalk Escort are cell phone activated vibes that will last throughout an entire call! If you have an iPhone and an OhMiBod vibe, it will vibrate to the sound of the caller’s voice — amazing! The collection is reasonably priced starting at around $50. With their Pleasure Packs, you get a group of goodies at a discounted price!

RealTouch

After two years in development, the RealTouch was officially released this year. A lube reservoir, heating coils and oppositional conveyor belts make up the football-size device that mimics handjobs, blowjobs, anal and vaginal sex through haptic feedback through its web component. A USB link connects the device to a computer, then men can put their penis in this machine and e-fuck hundreds of porn stars — gay or straight AND anime — via VOD giant AEBN’s library of porn videos encoded to work with the device. Retailing at $199, RealTouch users also must purchase movie rentals by minutes. Currently, the RealTouch is only PC compatible, but there are plans to roll out a Mac version and a hands-free Bluetooth option.

Exciting Innovations in Green

I heart the environment. Without it we would have nowhere to masturbate or have sex. Again — many, many novelty manufacturers have developed new ways to not pollute our Mother Earth, such as rechargeable vibes. But two companies, in my eyes, have really gone beyond the call of duty.

RecycleYourSexToy.com

The nonprofit organization launched a year ago with the mission to safely dispose of used or broken vibrators, dildos and plugs from manufacturers and adult businesses as well as individuals. Instructions on how and where to mail the used toys are offered on the site and once you do, you get a $10 gift card redeemable at VibratorShopping.com. Upon receipt, the toys are cleaned and disassembled with parts such as rubber, silicone, plastic and batteries sent for recycling, which process them for reuse.

The Earth Angel

This vibe is referred to as the first to feature green technology. It is designed with a hand-powered battery recharger, and made using recyclable material. The Earth Angel was developed in Ireland and is manually operated with a hand crank that recharges its internal power source. Eight minutes of cranking offers the user one hour of operation, and the core also can be connected to a USB charger. The Earth Angel is eight inches long and features four levels of vibration. Its outer shell and packaging are both made from phthalate-free recycled plastic. In other words… get off guilt-free!

Naughtibod by OhMiBod

OhMyBod_Naughty-Bod1For the fashion conscious vibrator enthusiast, who also happens to be serious about her (or his) music,

here’s a vibe that reminds you that music is a great way to get you in the mood for an orgasm. This is a toy you can have fun with, both alone or with a dance partner.

What I like most about the Naughtibod are the choices. From color — blue, pink, green and black — options — seven, and myriads more if you don’t use an MP3 player — and the curvy, sexalicious look of the toy.

I love that you don’t have to go through every vibratory option (which range from a low hum to a high-pitched shriek, to slides and thumps) to turn the thing off, because there’s an easy on/off switch on the bottom of the extra base, designed to work without an MP3 player (oh, the options)!

But let’s be real here. The draw of this toy is that it beats you off to the beat of your MP3 player. It comes with a cord that hooks both into your music-making machine and your headphones, allowing you to listen discreetly, or to blast the music on your Harmony Kordon iPod system, just like I did. The biggest cramp in its style is that the batteries are somewhat more obscure than your traditional AAs or Cs (they’re 1.5 volts).

The folks at OhMiBod suggest the perfect volume for listening pleasure (at 75% of full volume). In doing so, the Naughtinano made me feel more nice than naughty, but I won’t hold that against the toy. And the song I used to achieve danceable levels of excitement? Addicted to Love. Appropriately cheesy and perfect for the vibration.
