Death by vibrator

DailyMail.co.uk reported this week the tragic story of 30-year-old Nichola Pagiton, a nanny, who was found dead in bed naked from the waist down with a vibrator alongside her as porn played on her laptop.

Police found her after her employer Sarah Griffiths went to Nichola’s home after she did not show up at work that day. When there was no reply at the door, Sarah called on Nichola’s neighbor Michelle Grant and together they peaked through the window. Through the curtains, the ladies saw Miss Paginton lying on her bed with a cat lying on her chest.

“After they broke in they realized Miss Paginton was dead,” said Sgt Webb. “She had a computer on her lap and when they moved it and lifted the duvet, they found she was naked from the waist down and there was a vibrator in the bed. The laptop was still displaying pornographic material.”

The coroner determined Nichola died from a sudden heart arrhythmia, brought on by her state of arousal…

“I am satisfied Nichola Paginton died of a natural disease process – sudden cardiac arrhythmia,” the coroner said. “It is not always possible to determine an exact cause of death but it is likely that her activity before death contributed towards it.”

Study: Men 40+ engage in riskier sex

BusinessWeek.com reports that a Harvard University study says that men taking drugs for erectile dysfunction showed almost triple the rate of STDs compared with those not taking medication.

The study, looking at men taking Pfizer’s Inc. Viagra and Eli Lilly & Co.’s Cialis, was published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

However, the results, based on an analysis of the health insurance claims of men aged 40 and older, may have more to do with the nature of the men using the impotence drugs than with the medicines leading them to have riskier sex, the research report said.

According to the article, while younger people tend to have more partners than older people, it’s older folks that have more unprotected sex.

About 19 million new sexually spread infections occur each year in the U.S., almost half of them among people ages 15 to 24 years old, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Still, people aged 40 to 49 accounted for the largest proportion of newly diagnosed HIV/AIDS cases, 27 percent, in 2007, according to the CDC. Those 50 to 59 accounted for 13 percent, while those over the age of 60 accounted for 4 percent.

Weird how older doesn’t necessarily mean wiser….

The Screaming O Parties With a Purpose

The Association for Safe Fun Sex (ASFX) and The Screaming O hit Hollywood hot spots, the Hustler Hollywood boutique and MI-6 night club, Sunday night spreading the word on safe sex with good vibes and free goodies to welcoming crowds.

The debut Play Safe, Stay Sexy event began in the afternoon with a handful of attendees there specifically for the event chatting up The Screaming O’s friendly team in a lounge setting surrounded by colorful branded banners, balloons and displays of The Screaming O products.

The Screaming O’s Justin Ross said that creating a party atmosphere is part of ASFX’s mission in abolishing the stereotypical safe-sex “talk.”

“The organization was formed to show people that safe sex can still be fun,” Ross said. “Instead of using scare tactics that focus on STDs and pregnancy, we want to spice up safe sex with products and knowledge to enhance the experience.”

As the evening drew, tunes provided by DJ Miles attracted a bigger crowd and MTV’s Kenny Santucci happily posed for photos and boasted about Screaming O products.

“It’s a good way to pick up girls,” he said, “they love these things!”

As the Scream Team girls handed out free Screaming O Condom Packs containing a Sensual O Sensually Thin latex condom, Screaming O Vibrating Ring and a sex positions booklet, they cheerfully answered questions and challenged guests to rounds of Guitar Hero.

Jen, a Scream Team member, said  she enlisted two years ago and described her job as “spreading the sexy.”

“I love being a Screaming O girl,” she said, “I meet so many different, interesting people and spread a very important message of fun, safe sex.”

The Screaming O Condom Packs also included invitations to the after party that followed at West Hollywood’s MI-6 night club.

“Tonight is going to be one of the hottest nights in Hollywood,” Tyler, a Screaming O spokesperson, said the Hustler Hollywood portion of the evening wrapped.

Inside MI-6, The Screaming O brand could be seen on flashing on TV screens as strobe lights bounced off several glistening ice sculptures molded into the company’s logo. Rock On energy drinks flowed all night as attendees ended their night playing it safe as they walked away with more freebies.

ASFX.org holding inaugural safe-sex event in Hollywood, CA

The debut Play Safe, Stay Sexy event will take place this Saturday from 3-10 p.m. at the world-famous Hustler Hollywood Boutique, located at 8920 W. Sunset Blvd., in West Hollywood, Calif.

The Association for Safe Fun Sex (ASFX) takes a fun approach to offering expert information on sexually transmitted infections and unplanned pregnancy prevention, encouraging those who are sexually active to view condoms as an essential part of the bedroom routine.

Located in the hub of Hollywood’s nightlife scene, Hustler Hollywood was chosen because of its knowledgeable sales staff.

“Safe sex is such an important issue for Hustler Hollywood and we are proud to collaborate with ASFX.org in spreading the message that safe sex can and should be fun,” said Theresa Flynt, Hustler executive vice president. “Through our partnership with the Association for Safe Fun Sex and The Screaming O, we hope to bring a fun, fresh concept to the table that will get people excited about practicing safe sex. This event is really the first of its kind, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”

ASFX has invited The Screaming O to join the debut event with its Scream Team girls, who will make the rounds handing out free Screaming O Condom Packs to everyone in attendance.

The Screaming O Condom Pack kit includes a Sensual O Sensually Thin latex condom, Screaming O Vibrating Ring and a sex positions booklet.

“We’re working with ASFX and Hustler Hollywood to equip and educate young men and women to treat safe sex as more than just a trend,” Screaming O Vice President Keith Caggiano said. “Safe sex should be a part of everyone’s sensual lifestyle, and working with Hustler Hollywood is the perfect way for us to support that message and get everyone in the mood before — and especially after — their big night out.

“We know how it is. Friends go out for a crazy night on the town and want to bring the party back home. This is our opportunity to make sure they are well protected if they should decide to move things from the dance floor to the bedroom.”

Flibanserin – a flop?

Don’t hold your breath for flibanserin, the so-called “female Viagra,” to be approved.

The FDA, which is weighing to approve the drug, said that women who took the daily-dosed drug experienced significant side effects, including depression, fatigue and fainting.

But worse, the FDA claims the drug failed to boost women’s libidos in studies of more than 2,400 women, who were treated with either flibanserin or a placebo.

Women in both groups showed a hike in the number of sexually satisfying events but didn’t show any increase in sexual desire. Side effects forced about 15 percent of the women to stop taking the drug, twice as many women as in the placebo group.

The drug’s maker, Germany-based Boehringer Ingelheim, said that the drug provides an option for women with what doctors call “hypoactive sexual desire disorder,” noting that current options are “extremely limited.” According to Boehringer Ingelheim, women must take the drug on a daily basis for its sexual promises to take effect.

If the FDA’s panel of experts approves flibanserin, the drug company stands to gain about $2 billion in profits, equal or greater than annual sales of the three top men’s sex drugs, Viagra, Levitra and Cialis.

Wet on ‘Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood’

Last week’s episode of “Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” on cable’s Oxygen Network, featured Tori Spelling gifting Wet lubes to a bridal party.

In the episode, Spelling took on the wedding planning duties for her friend Brandy’s wedding.

Wet Platinum, Wet Kiwi Strawberry Flavored Lubricant, Inttimo by Wet Aromatherapy Massage and Bath Oil and Inttimo by Forbidden Fruit shave cream were all included in the gift bags offered at the party.

The wedding souvenirs even caught the attention of Spelling’s husband, Dean, who asked if there would be any left over for him.

“Our products have always been a hit at bridal and bachelorette parties,” said Jennifer Martsolf, Trigg Laboratories vice president of marketing. “We are thrilled that Tori wanted to include Wet as a part of her friend’s special day.”

The Wet brand of intimate gels has been a market leader for more than 20 years.

Classic Erotica Introduces Luxe After Shave/Wax Protection Mist

Classic Erotica has released Luxe After Shave & Wax Protection Mist for Rash-free Skin from its new Simply Sensual Cosmetics line.

Gilda Liardet, Classic Erotica account executive,  said that while many customers take advantage of the Luxe Intimate Shave Crème for Rash-free Skin, many women do prefer waxing. Thus, the newly introduced Luxe Protection Mist, offering skin care for both types of hair removal, was well received during its preview at the International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas.

The Luxe After Shave & Wax Protection Mist features a PH-balanced base combined with pure botanical extracts. It is infused with white tea leaf extract, chamomile flower extract, cucumber fruit extract, lavender flower/leaf/stem extract, lavender oil, raspberry fruit extract, sage leaf extract, clover flower extract and wheat germ extract for their soothing, healing and protective skin properties.

The mist dries to form a protective veil; while the botanicals work to close pores to prevent shave bumps and ingrown hairs. Its botanical blend emits a fragrance described as consisting of sweet floral and fruit notes infused in a deep woody base.

Luxe After Shave & Wax Protection Mist may be applied to legs, underarms, pubic area, face and body.

‘Real World’-er Eats Lube

In a scene from MTV’s “The Real World: Washington, D.C.,” housemate Andrew declares he could live off Wet Kiwi Strawberry flavored lube and suggests a new use for the product — salad dressing.

Now archived at RealWorldDailies.com, the clip is titled “Living on Lube,” and can be viewed here.

It features Andrew in the kitchen performing a taste test by dripping the Wet product directly into his mouth in front of his roommates. He then suggests that housemate Callie use it in her salad as dressing.

“Wet did not supply them with the product. It was their pick,” Martsolf said. “We aren’t sure how our product got directly into the cast hands.”

She added that to her knowledge, the appearance on MTV is a first for Wet.

“The product is sweet and very tasty,” a Wet spokesperson said. “Each of Wet’s water-based formulas is clear, colorless, stain-free and sugar- free.”

However, the spokesperson added that while harmless if ingested, the company does not recommend its lube be consumed like a food product.

Wet Kiwi Strawberry is available in 1.5 oz and 3.5 oz sizes.

Tiger Growls

Tiger Woods is taking legal action against Pipedream Products, demanding the company stop selling its line of Tiger sex toys.

According to TMZ.com, Tiger’s lawyer sent a letter to the company, asking it to stop all manufacturing, distribution and sales of the products and to recall all products from distribution.

The letter also asks the company to destroy, or otherwise dispose of the products in a manner and time as directed by Tiger Woods.

“They have no legal standing and we’ve done nothing wrong. But since all the inventory of the Tiger products have been sold out, we are going to comply with their request out of courtesy,” Pipedream’s COO Nick Orlandino said.

That’s nice of him.

Orlandino added the Tiger toy line was a limited edition and a one-time-only production — unlike Tiger’s infidelity.

The toys included the inflatable Take-Home Tiger love doll, Tiger’s Wood Cover (giant condoms) and Tuggin’ Tiger — a masturbating wind-up doll.

Online Shopping

I recently discovered the simplicity of buying from Fun Factory’s website. It’s visually pleasing and what can beat being able to shop discretely from the comfort of your own home?! The website features PDF-formatted manuals for various items and colorful images.

The site also features the latest releases, promotions and contests. I was also pretty shocked to learn that you can get a replacement for items that are broken or defective even without a warranty.

Because my item was purchased locally (I live in Cali — so does FunFactory’s U.S. distribution location) I received it in less than a week!

FunFactory’s products, including its new line of Click n Charge magnetically rechargeable vibes, are created in Germany.
